Raspberry Pi Vehicle Number Plate Recognition Recognizing vehicle number plates is a difficult but much needed system. This is very useful for automating toll booths, automated signal breakers identification and finding out traffic rule breakers. Here we propose a Raspberry Pi based vehicle number plate recognition system that automatically recognizes vehicle number plates using image processing. The system uses a camera along with LCD display circuit interfaced to a Raspberry pi. The system constantly processes incoming camera footage to detect any trace of number plates. On sensing a number plate in front of the camera, it processes the camera input, extracts the number plate part from the image. Processes the extracted image using OCR and extracts the number plate number from it. The system then displays the extracted number on an LCD display. Thus we put forward a fully functional vehicle number plate recognition system using Raspberry Pi. Hardware Specificat...

Voice Controlled Robotic Vehicle This project Voice Controlled Robotic Vehicle helps to control robot through voice commands received via android application. The integration of control unit with Bluetooth device is done to capture and read the voice commands. The robotic vehicle then operates as per the command received via android application. For this 8051 micro-controller is integrated in the system which makes it possible to operate the vehicle via android application. The controlling device may be any android based Smartphone/tab etc having an android OS. The android controlling system provides a good interactive GUI that makes it easy for the user to control the vehicle. The transmitter uses an android application required for transmitting the data. The receiver end reads these commands and interprets them into controlling the robotic vehicle. The android device sends commands to move the vehicle in forward, backward, right and left directions. After receiving the comma...

Accident Identification and alerting project When an individual riding his/her bike, meets with an accident, there is a chance that the individual may suffer from a serious injury or expire instantaneously and there is no one around to help him. Well this system is a solution to the problem. The system acts as an accident identification system that gathers and sends this vehicle information that met with an accident, and conveys it to the nearest control room. For this the user vehicle is fixed with an RF transmitter circuit that has a vibration sensor along with microcontroller, RF encoder and also fitted with an RF transmitter. Each and every control room must have an RF receiver fitted to receive the transmission. Whenever a user vehicle meets with any accident, the vibration sensor detects and gives its output. This output is then detected by the microcontroller. Now the microcontroller sends this change detection signal to an RF transmitter. The RF transmitter now intern be...

AC Power Strength Controller System         The project aims at controlling the AC power by using the concept of firing angle control of thyristors. One can enter the required percentage of power supply through a keypad. The input is provided to a microcontroller of 8051 family that initiate the firing angle to adjust the load power. For matching the power to the required one, a TRIAC is used in series with the AC load. A LCD screen is used to display the power percentage that is provided by the user. This system overcomes the faults in the present system and provides a solution for light illumination control mechanism of the lamp. This system is built by using an 8051 microcontroller and based on the principle of firing angle control of thyristors, which in turn can control the illumination of lamp. An LCD display unit is used, which displays entered percentage of the illumination through a matrix keypad. The firing angle control of thyristo...

2 Wheel Drive Forklift for Industry Warehouses Factories, industries and storage go downs need forklifts and cranes for storage and moving large goods. Also there are a number of goods weighing around 40 – 60 kgs that are comparatively lighter but cannot be moved around easily by human labor. To fill this need we here propose a 2 wheel drive forklift to lift and transport such medium weight goods across factories & industrial warehouses. The 2 wheel drive is a fast, efficient and low power consumption vehicle that does not require much space to move around. The mini forklift will run on 2 dc motors and can drive small weight with pickup arrangement across small distances easily. For this we use a mini 2 wheel vehicle body frame designed with a platform with 2 motorized wheel mounts. It has a perpendicular handle ahead to hold on as well as take turns. Also we design a forklift type mechanism on the front handle of vehicle using 2 bent metal strips and lifting mechanism. The...

Advanced Military Spying & Bomb Disposal Robot This system is very beneficial in areas where there is high risk for humans to enter. This system makes use of robotic arm as well as robotic vehicle which helps not only to enter an area involving high risk but also to pick whatever object it wants to. The system also includes night vision camera which will not only allow viewing whatever will be recorded in day time but also during night. The whole system is controlled via RF remote. The system sends commands to the receiving circuit mounted on the vehicle through push buttons. The receiving circuit involves 8051 micro-controller and a receiver which receives commands sent by the transmitting circuit. At first the system is set to control the movement of vehicle. In order to set the system in a mode that operates the arm. At first the user needs to press the push buttons for moving the vehicle in whichever direction it wants i.e. forward, backward, right or left direction. ...

Matrix Engineering Research Center provides the greatest set of physical engineering tasks subject areas to help students, researchers and engineers in their research and development. Our researchers constantly research on new issues and ideas to help students in their research on mechanical system designs. Gearless Transmission Using Elbow System This product demonstrates efficient gear-less tyranny of power at right angles. This saves items manufacturing time and costs along with teeth coordinating and kit placement issues. The elbow mechanism is an efficient style of gear-less transmission technique and the kinematic system which allows for efficient power/motion transmission at right angles. This device allows for motion transmitting at 90 degree aspects between driver and the driven shafts. We use mounts to mount a DC motor with base coupled to it. We all then...
